The DeKalb Festival Chorus invites interested singers to join us this fall by attending the first rehearsal on Monday, August 24 at 7:15 pm in the music building at NIU (Room 171). New members are encouraged to arrive early to meet the director and chat with returning members before the rehearsal begins.

The DeKalb Festival Chorus is a community chorus that serves the greater DeKalb area through presenting concerts of classical and contemporary choral music. Its membership includes volunteer singers from DeKalb and surrounding counties of Boone, Kane, Rock, and Olge counties.  DFC presents two to three concerts a year in the fall and spring at area churches and NIU.  The fall concert (tentatively scheduled for Nov. 22, 2015) will focus on American Music, including a collection of folk songs, a set of early American hymns, and selections from modern American composers, including Lauridsen, Stroope, and Whitacre. We will also be premiering a new arrangement of an early American hymn and collaborating with the NIU Children's Chorus.  The DeKalb Festival Chorus is a non-profit 501 (c3) organization. For more information about the chorus, please visit the chorus website at dekalbfestivalchorus.org.
