DFC mission statement

Calling all Singers!

We invite interested singers to join us during the spring 2015 semester! Just attend the first rehearsal on Monday, January 12 at 7:15 pm in the music building at NIU. New members are encouraged to come early to meet Steve Grives, music director and converse with other members. For more info, write to info@dekalbfestivalchorus.org.



Spring 2015 Concerts

Saturday February 7, 7:00 pm in NIU's Boutell Memorial Concert Hall

DFC will perform as part of the Make Your Garden Grow concert sponsored by NIU’s Department of Choral Activities to benefit the DeKalb County Community Gardens. Other choral groups participating will include NIU choirs, choruses from DeKalb and Sycamore High Schools, the Penguin Project and Singers from Stagecoach Players. The concert theme will feature Broadway musical productions that will culminate with the finale of The Tender Land by Aaron Copland called "The Promise of Living."

Admission is free with donations appreciated for the community gardens.


Saturday, May 9

The DFC spring concert Home will feature music by regional composers including Jake Runestad (Rockford, IL), folk and roots music and Kurt Weill’s "Down in the Valley."
